Working with Friday is a unique opportunity to be a part of a growing independent Muslim media brand that’s women-owned and run. We are more than just a magazine, we are a movement made possible by the women who bring their talents to the table and contribute to a collective that’s focused on giving Muslim women a space to show up and shine, loud and proud, with everything they embody.
We operate an open contributor system that makes it possible for any talented Muslim woman around the world to apply her skillset to a Friday project. Whether she wants to commit long term or work on a one-off project, we are always happy to hear from those who have something meaningful to add to our vision.
Write for Friday
Friday welcomes fresh voices and diverse perspectives that align with our mission. We believe powerful storytelling comes from lived experiences, thoughtful insights, and deep reflections – whether you’re young or old, a seasoned writer or new to publishing.
Each edition of Friday has a central theme, and while we welcome broad ideas, pitches that connect to our plans have a stronger chance of selection. We accept pitches for features, columns, essays, interviews, and cultural commentaries that resonate with our readership; visionary Muslim women navigating life, identity, and faith.
How to get involved:
Submit your Work
Email us a minimum of 3 writing samples that showcase your style, along with a brief introduction about yourself.
Join our Contributor List
If we like your work, you’ll receive a link to sign up to the list.
Online session
Before work starts on an edition, everyone on the list is invited to an online session to discuss the theme and editorial direction. There’s an opportunity for joint idea generation and Q&As with the Editor.
Submit a Pitch
After the session, you’ll have a few days to pitch an idea. We consider all ideas together, as well as any sent outside of the session, to make the best selection for the new edition.
The Writing begins
Successful writers will be contacted and guided through the writing process and schedules. All others will be kept on the list for future editions and invited to join the sessions again.

Want to contribute your creative talents on a Friday project? We work with designers, photographers, stylists, makeup artists, content creators, events organisers, decor specialists and many more skilled women to execute our ideas.
