FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Everything you need to know.
The Magazine
-
FRIDAY is an independent media platform for Muslim women — expressed through a biannual print magazine, live events and a growing community. Each edition is built around a single theme and filled with long-form essays, personal narratives and honest conversations. We are 100% independent, self-funded and proud members of IPSO and the PPA.
-
Twice a year. We publish biannually — one edition in May, and one in November. Each edition has a distinct theme and is designed to be read slowly and collected. We are a slow journalism publication. We don't chase news cycles and we don't rush.
-
Yes — we are stocked by a small and growing number of independent retailers. You can find our current stockists listed above. Buying directly through our website is always the best way to support us as an independent publisher, but if you'd prefer to find us in person, check the list to find your nearest stockist.
If you are a physical store and would like to stock FRIDAY — particularly outside the UK — please email us, we'd love to hear from you.
-
Every piece of content in FRIDAY is commissioned, edited and published on editorial merit alone.
We do not publish advertorials, paid placements or sponsored editorial content. What we recommend, we recommend because we genuinely love it. Our editorial independence is non-negotiable — it's the foundation everything else is built on.
-
Yes, selectively. FRIDAY offers advertising and partnership opportunities in print and at our events for brands whose values genuinely align with our community.
All advertising in FRIDAY is clearly presented as advertising — we do not publish advertorials, paid editorial or sponsored content designed to look like articles. Our editorial voice is not for sale. If you'd like to explore advertising or partnership, get in touch at partnerships@fridaymagazine.co.uk and request a media kit.
Orders & Delivery
-
We ship within the UK only. All subscriptions and pre-orders include free Royal Mail Tracked 48 shipping. Single copy and bundle orders are charged at £3 f or £4.50 for Tracked 24 — you can choose at checkout. International readers can order through our official stockist Newsstand.co.uk.
-
We dispatch within 3–5 working days of your order. You'll receive a confirmation email as soon as your copy is on its way. Pre-orders are dispatched on publication day — we'll let you know as soon as they're in the post. If you haven't heard from us within 5 working days, drop us a line at info@fridaymagazine.co.uk.
-
Absolutely — it makes a beautiful one. At checkout you can add a gift note to your order. If you'd like your copy sent directly to the recipient, simply enter their address as the delivery address. Our back issue bundle is particularly popular as a gift — two editions for £25.
-
We currently ship within the UK only. International readers can order single copies and bundles through our official stockist Newsstand.co.uk, who ship worldwide. We're working toward an international stockist network and will share updates as this develops.
-
As a print product, we're unable to accept returns unless your copy arrives damaged or faulty. If this happens, please get in touch at info@fridaymagazine.co.uk with a photo and we'll sort it for you straight away.
Subscriptions
-
A FRIDAY subscription costs £25 a year and gets you both editions as soon as they release — before single copies go on sale. Your subscription renews automatically each year on your renewal date. Free UK second class shipping is included.
-
At £25 a year, a subscription saves you £5 against buying both editions individually. But more than the saving, subscribing means you never have to think about it — your editions arrive automatically, before anyone else, for as long as you stay subscribed. You're also directly supporting independent Muslim women's media every time your subscription renews.
-
You can cancel at any time before your next renewal date by logging into your account or emailing us at info@fridaymagazine.co.uk. Cancellations mid-year are not eligible for a refund, but you'll continue to receive any editions remaining in your current subscription year.
-
If you took out a one-off annual subscription previously, thank you — you were one of our earliest supporters. Your existing subscription will run to its end date. When it expires, you'll be invited to move onto our rolling annual subscription. If you have any questions about your account, get in touch at info@fridaymagazine.co.uk.
Working with FRIDAY
-
We love hearing from writers — but please read this carefully before you get in touch. FRIDAY is a themed, curated print publication. We commission the majority of our content in advance, and our editorial calendar is planned months ahead. We do not accept unsolicited finished pieces. If you'd like to be considered for future commissions, send a short introduction and two or three links to your published work to info@fridaymagazine.co.uk. We read everything but we cannot respond to every submission. If there's a fit for an upcoming edition, we'll be in touch.
-
That depends on what you have in mind. FRIDAY collaborates with brands, organisations, creatives and community platforms whose values align with ours. We do not collaborate for exposure. If you have a genuine, mutually beneficial proposal, email partnerships@fridaymagazine.co.uk with a brief outline. Please be specific about what you're proposing — vague collaboration requests won't receive a response.
-
We offer paid advertising in our print editions and at our events. All adverts must be clearly identifiable as advertising — we do not produce sponsored articles, brand-written content or paid features of any kind. If your brand is a genuine fit for our audience and you're happy to advertise honestly, we'd love to hear from you. Visit our Advertise page or email partnerships@fridaymagazine.co.uk.
-
We'd love to hear from you. Please email info@fridaymagazine.co.uk with details of your organisation and the nature of the piece, with your deadline. We'll get back to you as quickly as we can.
-
Features in FRIDAY are editorially led — we approach the people we want to include based on the theme of each edition. We do not accept paid features or applications to be included. The best way to get on our radar is to follow our work, engage with our community and make sure we know who you are. If there's a fit for an upcoming edition, our editorial team will reach out.
-
Drop us a line at info@fridaymagazine.co.uk and we'll get back to you as soon as we can. We're a small independent team — we appreciate your patience.
